As I look at some of the problems facing our country today I really get the sense that no one has any idea what they are doing! I look at our government and all that is going on in Washington and wonder if anyone has read the constitution or has listened to any of the people that they say they serve! I also think about the future and how we are moving away from the prinicipals that this country was founded upon (like life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness)! I think of what our founding fathers had in mind when they founded this great country and the morals that they displayed in the way they went about establishing this great nation!! When I realize that we have lost the morals and prinicipals that we once displayed as a nation that is when I realize that that is where our problem lies! We have left our strong and mighty Tower in which we trusted in when fighting for the liberties we once held as granted! When we won WWII by the strength of OUR army and we came out of the great deppression beaming with confidence and pride. We put our god in our pockets and went about our day as if the world owed us something just for being the UNITED STATES. We slowly but steadily movede away from the principals and went toward anything that would make us happy! We forgot about the backbone of society (FAMILY) and moved toward anything and everything except for that which was really needed! We still have not realized our true problem and that is the lack of God and morals in our society!
We go about our lives as if we are the only people in the world that really matter and as if we are owed everything by everyone. We expect our government to take care of us and we expect hollywood and the world to entertain us! We have left GOD out of our lives and expect everything to be okay! When we look to man (government) to take care of us we are destined for failure as a society! Because as we have seen in the last 10 months alone, our politicians are just as bent towards sin as we are! The on;ly person who has are true best interest at heart is God and he has been completely and totally forgotten!
We have not lost the need for a god but we have replaced the ONE true God with fake gods which promise happiness and satisfaction. But leave us empty and truely alone! We need to wake up to the fact that the answer to our problems is not in Washington and not in Hollywood! The true giver of our LIFE, LIBERTY, and HAPPINESS comes from our CREATOR, our JUDGE, our REDEEMER, and our one true GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

The start of The Theology Program!!
Tonight was the start of TTP or The Theology Program! The class is at Col. Beer's house and bible studies there are always intense but this course is especially intense. This is mostly because of the depth of the study but also because of the importance of it! Tonight's class was the introduction to the first, of six ten week courses. This course is called Introduction to Theology. An appropriate name as this ten weeks is teaching about how they want to teach theology. It also will speak of the importance of theology and about what theology even is.
This course was started by two guys who have both been to Dallas Theological Seminary and felt a burden to the "regular church goers." They feel it is necessary for every professing christian to really be rooted in what they believe and to know what they even believe and why they believe it. This has been a burden of my local body of believers because we believe each one of us needs to be able to sit down and be able to teach or share with someone (whether that person be a believer or not) what we believe as individuals and as a fellowship of believers!
These courses are not to teach you what the teachers believe. It is to get people thinking and studying God's Word. These courses are to get people out of the "do nothing and be OK with it because I went to church" attitude. The most important thing they stressed tonight is doing theology in community. This means with other believers and/or family. When you do theology in "community" first, you are held accountable with other believers and you hold others accountable. Second, you become closer together as a group and build lasting relationships that will make the body of Christ more effective in its work.
I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us as we embark on this journey of studying theology! God is so good all the time!!!!

Awesome meeting with the saints!
Tonight my Dad, Mom, Timothy, Heidi, Troah (about half my family), Josh (a member from our fellowship), and I went to The Valley Rescue Mission. It is always an awesome meeting! The men there (at least most of them) are always hungry for the word of God and the things of Christ! My dad talked about how New Years is a time for reflection and a time for planning ahead. We need to reflect on what our sucesses and failures have been. We also need to reflect on how far we have come closer to God or fallen away from God. He also challenged us to get alone with God and find out how we could draw closer to Him! This is so true not only at New Years but everyday as we walk with God we need to have our line of communication open and listening for the spirit to move!
After the service alot of the men were coming up to the front to shake our hands as they do everytime. There was one man who ask me what the name of our church was? So I told him Faith Bible Fellowship. He then ask me what we believed? I told him we believe the Bible and what it teaches! He then ask me what RELIGION we were? I told him we don't put to much stock in religion and we believe the Bible to be our final authority. He then ask me no what denomination are you? Then he proceeded to list off a bunch of denominations. Sold then I gave in and said we were most like the baptist beliefs.
What I am getting at is the fact that people think of рдеे have to know your religion to know what you believe. This is really what my dad and our body of believers are trying to get away from by labeling ourselves as Faith Bible Fellowship! We believe the name of your denomination does not ultimately matter to the One who really matters! We believe that the Bible is what we are to believe because that is the only thing inspired by God! Therefore the BIBLE is the only thing that MATTERS!!!
